The new medical students from Unaerp have already started classes at Campus Guarujá. The ceremony for the inauguration of the program was held on Monday (25), chaired by Dean Professor Elmara Bonini. The solemnity was attended by incoming students, authorities, representatives of the medical class and guests, and was marked by emotion and homage.

The Dean of Unaerp, Elmara Bonini, emphasizes that the medical project in Guarujá is differentiated, in addition to the program in Ribeirão Preto that have been evaluated with maximum marks by the MEC – Brazilian Ministry of Education. "We are happy to implement the course and we will be able to do an excellent job in a regional way, that is our goal." For Unaerp Guarujá Provost, Priscilla Bonini Ribeiro, "it is a new cycle of educational, economic and social development for the city and the region."
The ceremony was attended by the director of Teaching, Research and Extension, Prof. Dr. Neide Aparecida de Souza Lehfeld; from the Director of Strategic Projects, Vanessa Bonini Panico; from the director of the Electro Bonini Hospital, Lara Bonini; from the Undergraduate Programs Coordinator, Sonia Camargo dos Santos; the Extension coordinator, Prof. Carmen Lopes; the supervisor of tutorship of the Medicine Program, Prof. Dr. Lucélio Bernardes Couto; the Academic Supervisor of Campus Guarujá, Nazareti Pereira Ferreira Alves and the Administrative Supervisor of Campus Guarujá, Dorothy Van Tol.


Tributes for the social work of Unaerp - On the solemnity, the Dean received tributes from people from the community assisted by social projects, such as Physiotherapy patient, Rocio Higor Quirino. During two decades of operations in Guarujá, Unaerp has already promoted more than 260 thousand assistances.


Prof. Elmara Bonini was also thrilled, alongside the directors Priscilla Bonini, Vanessa Bonini Panico and Lara Bonini, for the memories of the chancellor Electro Bonini and the longing Evandro Alberto Bonini, one of the great supporters of Campus Guarujá.
One of the most exciting moments was the violin presentation by the Medicine student Carlos Henrique da Silva Martins, who charmed the audience. Resident in Guarujá, he is one of the contemplated with the scholarship by the city law. "I've always dreamed of studying medicine. It is what I love and want to do, serve people and carry out such a noble profession".


Dream achieved - Students from various parts of the country have already started classes at Unaerp Guarujá reaching the dream of studying medicine, such as Heitor de Oliveira Nato Martins, who came from the city Rio Verde, in Goiás. "It was my dream; I admire this profession very much ". His father, Heitor De Oliveira Nato Neto, was very moved. "They're 1100 miles away. But the expectation is that he becomes an excellent professional, he is my pride”.


The freshman Raphael Eduardo de Oliveira Calhaveiro, from Ibitinga, in the interior of São Paulo, was very impressed with the first classes. "I realize now that it is really what I wanted. The (study) method challenges us, but that is the proposal, it is nice for us to improve ever more".



Gains to health care in Guarujá and region - Beginning activities with 60 vacancies in a semester, the Medical Course at Unaerp Guarujá will enable the involvement of these students in the health care in the region.

For the councilor in charge of the Regional Office of the Regional Medical Council (CREMESP), Mônica Yasmin Pinto Corrado, this is a historic university event in the Baixada Santista. "Our congratulations to Unaerp for further this endeavor, in benefit of the training of human resources at the university level that Brazil really needs, especially in the health area."
The president of Guarujá Chamber, Edilson Dias, thanked the University for this action. "Medicine, a struggle of the University for years, will provide an improvement in the quality of health care throughout the region." Thanks to Unaerp for never giving up Guarujá. "

Representatives of municipalities in the region honored the event, such as Bertioga Health Secretary Fernando Moreira de Oliveira, Guarujá Social Relations Secretary, Thaís Margarido, and Regulation Coordinator of Praia Grande Health Department, Ernesto Dallaverde Júnior. Training of excellence - Unaerp Medicine course has as main differential the PBL (Problem Based Learning) method, which works with the active participation of the student in a system of tutorials for knowledge construction. In Ribeirão Preto, the course had a maximum grade in the evaluation of MEC, situation in which only ten courses across the country had reached this result.

During the event, the coordinator of Medicine Couse in Ribeirão Preto, Prof. Dr. Reinaldo Bulgarelli Bestetti, told a history of medical education and highlighted the gains of this achievement for the population. "Our intention is to replicate the formation of excellence here at Campus Guarujá, evidently adapting to the needs of the region's reality."

The coordinator of Medicine at the Guarujá Campus, Prof. Dr. Geraldo Magela Nogueira Marques, explains the focus of this training. "We want to instill in them the formation of general practitioners with the sensitivity of caring for the family, and that they are knowledge seekers, that is, they will learn to learn."
The coordinator of Internship of Unaerp, Prof. Dr. Heraldo Carlos Borges Inforzato, praised the medical knowledge of the sixth year students in hospital internship activities. "I was amazed and proud of the excellent level of the students, since I have not seen students of boarding school with so much knowledge. Congratulations to Unaerp Medicine Course ".



Medicine at Unaerp Guarujá - Having permission from the Ministry of Education - MEC, n. 48 of February 11, 2019, the course places the tradition and excellence of the University in training doctors and will add quality to the health care to the population of the city. Running on the campus of Unaerp Guarujá, installed at Praia da Enseada, the course has infrastructure for activities and projects aimed at teaching, research and extension, as well as Library, multi-sport complex, food and living areas, and supporting services to students.
