3rd Webinar on Chemical Engineering and Architecture and Urbanism had international participants

Unaerp's Architecture and Urbanism and Chemical Engineering programs promoted the “3rd International Webinar”, which took place on June 1st. The event, open to the public, had 140 participants, who were professors and students of the programs, as well as participants from the Catholic University of Santa María, in Peru – Unaerp’s partner institution.

The Webinar schedule included two relevant lectures for both professional areas. The first with the theme “Environment, urban spaces and the covid-19 pandemic”, given by Professor André Pitondo da Silva, a professional with important academic performance in the development of research in the areas of environment, bacterial genetics and pathogenicity; and the second “The importance of listing: from Environmental Law to Architecture”, with Professor Luciano Alves Rossato, Chief State Attorney of the Regional Attorney of Ribeirão Preto.

The Chemical Engineering program coordinator at Unaerp, professor Luciana Rezende, stated that the objective of the event was to show students the actions that each area should take into account in their professional attitudes. “The objective was achieved, as we had many questions from students and teachers and it was noticed that we were able to plant the seed for an actions analysis of each professional. In the same way as the second lecture, it brought a real-time vision that goes beyond books, bringing the environment to the fore. The students’ integration with the speakers was very good and of great interest”, she concludes.

Due to the pandemic caused by covid-19, the event was held completely online through the Google Met platform. The coordinator of the Architecture and Urbanism program, professor Edson Salerno Junior, see the Webinar in a positive way. “The online modality that characterizes this event, allowed a wider audience, allowing information and technical guidance to reach more people in our society. We had 196 subscribers, 140 participated, a high rate of attendance”, he celebrates.
