Graduate Program in Law carries out program with Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla

The Graduate Program in Law at Unaerp, in partnership with the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico, conducted the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program from October 7 to November 22. The program aimed to deepen students' knowledge in the course of "Latin American Social Protection."

According to Professor Sebastião Sérgio da Silveira, the coordinator of the Law Undergraduate Program and the Graduate Program, the activity is essential for consolidating projects and research conducted at the University. "Various classes and other activities were conducted involving both professors and students from the program here in Ribeirão Preto, as well as students from the Mexican university. This activity is always of great value to us as it allows our students to connect with other realities and people."

Professor Rodrigo Monteiro Pessoa, the project coordinator and a faculty member of the Law Graduate Program, emphasized that the event, a result of the partnership with the Mexican university, was "an innovative experience for the Program, enabling students and professors to interact in the development of activities related to human rights and social protection."

Classes were conducted virtually with students from Unaerp and the Mexican university.

Furthermore, the professor highlighted the increasing need for an understanding of foreign law in addressing current issues. "In many cases, understanding how other countries have dealt with similar problems sheds light on how Brazil could import solutions or adapt them, creating a broader range of possibilities for modern legal responses."
