Karina Pfrimer, a professor in the Nutrition program and the Graduate Program in Biotechnology at Unaerp, participated in the 1st Conference on the Use of Stable Isotopes in Medical Sciences, AR.EXT at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, held from September 25 to 27.
With support from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), she presented a poster at the conference on the topic "Influence of the Respiratory Quotient Adjusted by Indirect Calorimetry and Food Intake on the Calculation of Energy Expenditure by Doubly Labeled Water."
During the event, the professor also conducted a technical visit to the Stable Isotope Laboratory at UW-Madison, where she met with the lab’s core team and toured the facilities, including demonstrations of the advanced isotope ratio mass spectrometers and associated equipment. The visit also allowed her to participate in technical sessions, practical demonstrations, and discussions on international collaborative research.
