Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Law

The implementation of the Postgraduate Program in Collective Rights and Citizenship at the University of Ribeirão Preto (PPGDCC) is the result of the audacious proposal of dedicating the program to the concentration area of Collective Rights and Citizenship. The aim of the program is to systematically study these new frontiers of law.

Lato sensu (transindividual) collective rights have been an area of extraordinary development in recent years. Likewise, the realization of citizenship has always been a burning issue of man throughout human history and is undergoing constant development and improvement. The Law plays an important role in these areas, either to identify and understand new and old problems that range from the idiosyncrasy of the State and society to tackling these problems, or to propose and conceive instruments that permit the effective implementation of the values of the Constitution.

The Postgraduate Program in Collective Rights and Citizenship proposes to address a fundamental issue, i.e., the possibility of persistent search for substantive citizenship and the contribution that collective rights can make to this desideratum.
