Yesterday, 10/04, the director of the International and Interinstitutional Relations Office of Coimbra Medicine Faculty, Professor Marília Dourado, representative of the University of Coimbra, UNAERP partner in Portugal, visited Ribeirão campus.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the partnership links and increase the possibilities of mobility between universities. "We have a bilateral agreement between the institutions and we have already received several students from UNAERP who are going there to do short-term internships in practical areas. The intention is to stimulate this international mobility and bring the students from Coimbra to Ribeirão. I came to know the University personally and I was delighted because, besides the beautiful campus, it has many structures to support teaching and practice, which are necessary for a medical course to have credibility, "said the professor.
During the visit, she visited the entire campus, also the medical course learning scenarios, including the places where students work through SUS in the Basic Health Units (UBS), Emergency Care Units (UPA) and others. The professor also delivered a lecture to the students and participated in a meeting with professors and the coordinator of the Medicine course, Professor Reinaldo Bestetti, in which they talked about opportunities for international cooperation between the institutions.
According to the coordinator of the Division of International Cooperation, Vanessa Bonini Panico, the visits of international partners are very important to bring institutions closer and to increase the mobility between them. "We have tried to reach out to our most active partners in the mobility program to bring our structures closer together, to increase the mobility of students and professors, also to receive more foreign students from our partners, as this is important for us to internationalize our campus".
