The students of Unaerp Medical School participated in the Medicine of Sport and Related Sciences, Jornadas de Actualización en Medicina del Deporte y Ciencias Afines, invited by the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid – UCM, Spain, from 24 to 30 June 2019. The event was coordinated by Professor Eduardo Laureano, former teacher and alumni student of the Physical Education Program at Unaerp.
The academic conference involved practical and theoretical classes, addressing themes related to Sports Medicine. During the event, students also had the opportunity to visit the Club Atlético Madrid training center, as well as other athlete training venues and public sports facilities.
Unaerp medical student Victor Vilarinho Vieira, president of the Unaerp Academic Sports Medicine League (LAMERP), says that the experience was extremely important for those who want to work in the area. “I had a unique experience of seeing the sports doctor's comprehensive performance in clubs, federations and hospitals, seeking to prevent and cure diseases in the population and the sports improvement of high performance athletes. In addition, I learned a lot about Spanish history, culture and language and visited lots of Madrid tourist spots. ”
Update on 04/19/2021: The event took place between the 24th and 30th of June 2019 and there is no forecast for another edition.
