The VII Winter Course in Biotechnology, promoted by the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Biotechnology of Unaerp, started on Monday, 07/22. Lasting a week, the course has lectures in the morning, mini-courses in the afternoon and, on the last day of the event, 07/26, there will be a panel exhibition of works.
In addition to providing a debate on current Biotechnology topics and promoting interaction between students and professionals in the field, the Winter Course also has as one of its objectives to present research that is developed at the University.
Throughout the course, the University welcomes speakers from all over the country, such as Professor Doctor Domingos de Jesus Rodrigues, from the Federal University of Mato Grosso - UFMT, who will talk about “Southern Amazon Biodiversity: use and opportunities for biotechnological studies”, this Tuesday, 07/23.
Professor Dr. Rita Maria Borges de Moraes, a collaborator of Fernando Lee Foundation (Guarujá-SP), will also give a lecture on Tuesday (23), entitled “Green Economy: Research and Development, Rio Negro Farm”, in which she will address the studies that the Foundation is developing on the farm, located in the city of Feliz Natal (MT).
The objective of the study is to promote biodiversity and its rational use to generate new products, drugs and natural pesticides. For her it is important to hold events such as the Biotechnology Winter Course to promote staff training, train young people and encourage research.
The seventh edition of the course was organized by the professors Dr. Bianca Waleria Bertoni and Dr. Sonia Marli Zingaretti and by Unaerp Stricto Sensu Graduate students in Biotechnology.

Partnership among Unaerp, Fernando Lee Foundation and UFMT
In addition to giving a lecture at the VII Winter Course, Professor Domingos de Jesus Rodrigues, is at the University to officialize a cooperation agreement among Unaerp, UFMT and the Fernando Lee Foundation (Guarujá). This agreement consists in the development of mutual works, such as coorientation of master's and doctoral researches, partnerships in the publication of articles, possibility to produce drugs, pesticides, among others.
