Professor Rene Beleboni, professor of the Master's and Doctoral Program in Biotechnology and of the Medicine and Psychology programs at Unaerp, carries out, between the months of January and April, a scientific mission at the University of Cádiz, in the region of Andalusia, Spain.
With funding from Fundácion Carolina, through Programa de Movilidad de Profesorado Brasil-España, and from the Spanish Universities Council, the academic-scientific cooperation agreement aims to develop research on the formation of new neurons and the recovery and treatment of brain injuries resulting from chronic neurodegenerative diseases or from more acute injury events, such as cerebrovascular accident (CVA - stroke).
The presence as a visiting professor at the Spanish university is important in the extension plans and contributes to a greater international visibility of Unaerp, according to Beleboni. “The project is advanced, modern and has wide practical importance in the fields of Biotechnology and Modern Medicine”, says the professor.
Dr. Beleboni's scientific partner in Spain is the neurophysiologist Carmen Castro Gonzalez, recently sworn in as Professor at the Department of Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cádiz.
