Unaerp Business program opens enrollment for courses taught in English in the first half of 2023 for the morning, afternoon and evening periods. The initiative is part of the Internationalization at Home (IaH) strategy, which seeks to encompass and include the University community in activities and projects that have an international, intercultural and global dimension.
The courses offered for the next semester are: Consumer Behavior; Organizational Behavior and Conflict Management; Professional Practice, Career Management and Coaching; Channel Management, Retail and Trade Marketing; Foreign trade: Challenges and opportunities when doing business in Brazil; Global Competences in the Globalized World.
Professor Daniela Carnio Costa Marasea, who teaches two of the courses for the next semester, explains the importance of the classes offered, since students can have contact and live with people from other countries and cultures, expanding their worldview. “These activities enrich the curriculum and in the selection processes are a great differential. They have a golden opportunity to develop personally and also in the language, because during classes they need to dialogue, carry out activities and tests”, she comments.
The offer of courses taught in English is more attractive for foreign students who are looking for an academic experience in Brazil, once most students do not speak the Portuguese language. In addition to the courses, students are also integrated into various activities such as technical visits, sport activities, and other events held by Unaerp.
Also, international students from partner institutions are enrolled at no cost in the basic level of the Portuguese for Foreigners course and are integrated in the Buddy Program, a project of Brazilian students who become friends of incoming students and assist them with the entire process during their international mobility.During the semester, students also participate in technical visits to local companies to learn about their physical and organizational structures.
Courses offered since 2019
Since the first half of 2019, the Business program has offered courses in English every six months and so far 176 students have taken them. Of the total, 141 were from Unaerp and the other 35 students were foreigners from countries in South America, Europe and Asia.
First class of 2019 with professor Daniela Marasea and the alumni Rafaela Bazanelli.
Graduated in the Business program, Rafaela Bazanelli, participated in one of the first groups of classes in English, in 2019, until she completed graduation. She comments that the encouragement of internationalization by Unaerp is very important and that the experience was a differential in her academic training, as it served as a challenge and motivation. “With internationalization, the University modernizes and updates its teaching methods, enabling cultural exchanges among different countries, generating greater connectivity and expanding connections”, she concludes.
