Law Students Awarded at the Model United Nations of the University of Coimbra

Unaerp Law students Isabela Godoi Brettas and João Victor Idaló participated in the Model United Nations, a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly held from March 15 to 17 by the University of Coimbra and the United Nations Association of Portugal. The event's theme of discussion was "Artificial Intelligence: Impact on Future Society."


The main theme of the event was "Artificial Intelligence: Impact on Future Society."

Representing the delegation of the Republic of Lebanon, the students advocated for the country's democratic ideals before their fellow university colleagues, thereby earning the Merit awards, the second-highest accolade granted by the event's organizers, and Best Speaker awards, as voted by fellow participants.

Reflecting on her inaugural participation in the UN Simulation, Isabela expressed profound appreciation for the multifaceted experience. "I did not imagine the cultural enrichment I would gain during the three days of debate and active participation in the Assembly. Receiving the Merit Award demonstrated recognition for the work done. I could not be happier and more honored."


The students represented the delegation of the Republic of Lebanon

João Victor emphasized the significance of their participation, describing the UCMUN as a platform for fostering healthy competition grounded in diplomacy. "Winning the awards was the highlight of the simulation, after all, it is not every day that you are recognized and applauded outside your home country."
