Established in 2014, Unaerp's Architecture and Urbanism course is a benchmark in the Ribeirão Preto region, evaluated with a Grade 4 by the Ministry of Education – MEC (in a range from 1 to 5). With a strong focus on the internationalization of education, the Architecture and Urbanism program promotes the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), engaging in activities with partner institutions in Argentina, Mexico, and Spain. In 2022, the program received the seal from the FAUBAI-BRaVE- Brazilian Virtual Exchange Program, aiming to encourage virtual exchange practices in Brazilian universities.
With an excellent faculty and infrastructure comprising multifunctional spaces and laboratories, the bachelor's degree program shapes professionals with artistic sensitivity, socio-environmental awareness, and technological and conceptual knowledge, based on the guidelines of the Brazilian Council of Architecture and Urbanism - CAU/BR.
Education is enriched with practical activities, including participation in the Research and Extension Projects Nucleus (NUPPE), national and international technical visits, and involvement in events such as the Architecture and Urbanism Week, which became international in 2020, and the annual editions of the Ribeirão Preto International Book Fair.

"The Alumni adhere to ethical principles, knowing they need to work while respecting regulations, reading the standards before starting a project, listening to the client, visiting the intervention site, observing its insolation, feeling the atmosphere of the environment, and connecting with it, as it will be part of their life for about six to seven months," highlights the program coordinator, Professor Edson Salerno Junior.
Teaching - Another differential is the Pedagogical Project of the program, which prepares students for the job market and contributes to an updated formation aligned with the demands and regulations of the architecture field. Throughout the undergraduate program, students experience practical classes in architecture, urbanism, and landscaping in a real scenario from the first semester onwards, in addition to case studies and active learning methodologies implemented in extension and research projects. The quality of education provided by the University is reflected in the high employability rates, around 80% according to the most recent survey answered by graduates.

Professor Ruth Montanheiro Paolino, founder, and first coordinator of the Architecture and Urbanism program, notes that the excellence and reliability of the bachelor's degree were evidenced by the high demand among prospective students. In 2014, the program started with 30 students. In the following year, 2015, the University opened a class with over 50 students. "Furthermore, achieving a Grade 4 (in a range from 1 to 5) in the recognition process with the Ministry of Education also contributed to increasing the course's credibility in society."
At the time of its foundation, the professor planned the initial steps of the bachelor's degree alongside Professor José Antônio Lanchoti, who provided accessibility adaptation project services for the campus. From the outset, the idea was to develop a pedagogical proposal that could be innovative, updated, and contemporary in the city and the region.
One of the coordinator's goals is to consolidate the internationalization of the bachelor's degree
The professor also highlights that the program design was determined by the concept of Integrated Studios, a trend in several universities in Latin America and Europe since the early 21st century. "We needed a strong differential, so the curriculum structure was conceived to promote learning through the student's production, authorship, and reflection in their formation and learning process, acquiring knowledge through experimentation, creation, simulations, and reflections on the created product," explains Ruth.
HISTORICAL DATE - Rated with 4 stars in the Estadão College Guide, Unaerp's Architecture and Urbanism program values the academic and technical formation of students, providing practical experiences in project and research enriched through partnerships with other universities. On its 10th anniversary, the bachelor's degree celebrates its foundation with a new physical infrastructure, adapted for Architecture studies, including rooms with drawing boards, workbenches, meeting tables, and individual desks, aiming to promote proximity to the job market.

Regarding plans for the coming years, Professor Salerno Junior states that one of the priorities is to consolidate internationalization in the bachelor's degree. "We also intend to review the Pedagogical Project, making the course as updated as possible and, in a contemporary manner, integrated with everything we see in the market and its demands, bringing more extension courses to attract the public, as well as increasing our participation in society through extension and research curricular projects," he emphasizes.
