Unaerp starts the semester with Diverse Academic and Cultural Program

Starting August 5, Unaerp will kick off its traditional Freshman and Veteran Welcome and Integration Program, which greets the academic community for the second semester.

These events are Unaerp’s way of welcoming new undergraduate students to the institution and those returning to campus.

With the theme "Each One with Their Dream, But All with Respect," the program promotes respect for diversity, solidarity, social responsibility, and civility in welcoming the new students, while also celebrating and honoring the university's centennial this year.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES – The Freshman and Veteran Welcome and Integration Program features cultural events, leisure activities, and guidance for new students, with active participation from coordinators, faculty, student organizations, academic leagues, and student councils, along with specific course-related activities. In addition to lectures by professionals, chats with alumni, workshops, and fun games, new students will visit laboratories, clinics, and learn about their course’s educational projects.

Among the highlights of the program is a welcome address by Unaerp’s Rector, Professor Sebastião da Silveira, on August 22 at 10 AM and 9 PM. The reception event will take place at the Teatro Bassano Vaccarini.

SOLIDARITY ACTIONS – Unaerp is also running a campaign for donating used textbooks from veteran students to freshmen, and the Bicho Sangue Bom Blood Donation Campaign in partnership with the Ribeirão Preto Hemocenter, on August 21 and 22, from 8 AM to 11 AM, at Hospital Electro Bonini.

A new feature this semester is the creation of the Integrated Center for Spirituality and Science, which aims to expand ethical values and benefit individuals seeking a deeper meaning in life through activities, forming a support group for the Unaerp community, engaging in spiritual experiences, discussing clinical cases, conducting scientific research, and volunteering at philanthropic institutions.

The complete program will be presented to all international students during the Welcome Session on August 5th, 2024.
