Unaerp maintains top-notch laboratories for teaching, research, and extension activities. With adequate equipment and facilities, the laboratories are a fundamental structure for the high quality education offered by the Institution. These spaces also provide services to the population.
LABORATORY OF CLINICAL ANALYSIS - LAC
The Laboratory of Clinical Analysis (LAC), founded in 1993, performs about 170 thousand clinical and laboratory exams per year and has already received 18 consecutive quality certificates issued by the Brazilian Society of Clinical Pathology. In LAC, internships, extension activities and provision of services to the population are carried out, which include everything from collection to receipt of clinical and laboratory samples, going through the bureaucratic process of registering them, to the monitoring of the tests by pharmacists and analysis report. LAC conducts exams in the areas of Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Hormones, Bacilloscopy and Urinalysis, for patients with medical requests from Ribeirão Preto Basic Health Units and Hospital Electro Bonini. LAC has a Certificate of Good Laboratory Practice granted by the National Quality Control Program of the Brazilian Society of Clinical Analyzes.
UNIVERSITY PHARMACY
Established in 2004, the "Cidinha Bonini" University Pharmacy handles the masterful handling of allopathic and herbal medicines, cosmetics and dispensing of reference and generic industrialized medicines. At the Pharmacy, activities and guidance are provided to the population regarding the interactions that may occur between medications, and food, possible adverse reactions, the risks of self-medication and abandonment of the indicated treatment.
LABORATORY OF BIOPHARMACOTOXICOLOGY
Designed to serve teaching, research and service provision, the Laboratory of Biopharmacotoxicology has state-of-the-art equipment, including specific devices for the identification and quantification of organic and inorganic compounds, whether from biological materials or not. On site, quality control analyzes of products handled at the University Pharmacy are carried out, in addition to internships, extension activities, research and scientific initiation.
MEDICINES INFORMATION CENTER – CIM
The Medicines Information Center (CIM) aims to promote the rational use of medicines, through objective, up-to-date, reliable, timely, pertinent and properly processed and evaluated pharmacological, therapeutic and toxicological information. The service covers the city of Ribeirão Preto and region.
LABORATORY OF CHEMICAL RESIDUE ANALYSIS AND TREATMENT
With the support of the Rectory and Directorates of UNAERP and FAPESP, in August 2002, on the Ribeirão Preto campus of the University of Ribeirão Preto, the Chemical Residue Analysis and Treatment Laboratory was established, with the main objective of adopting treatment, recovery and disposal measures, end of chemical residues generated in the university's teaching, research and extension activities, in addition to raising the awareness of those responsible for the generating sectors involved, relating them to the objective responsibility where "WHO GENERATES THE RESIDUE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR IT".
