Students from Unaerp's Architecture and Urbanism course won the first contest “Você na Bild”, promoted by Bild Desenvolvimento Imobiliário. Juliano César Matias Junior, student of the tenth semester and João Iago Nobile Ferreira, of the fourth semester, won first and third places, respectively.
The cultural contest, offered to students of Architecture and Urbanism of Ribeirão Preto, aimed to give voice to the creativity of students and promote new collaborative ideas. To this end, the participants presented a preliminary architectural study for a multi-family vertical condominium planned for the city. The three best and most suitable studies were selected and awarded.
One of Juliano's concerns in his project, entitled “Space for All”, was the people locomotion inside the property, in addition to sustainability. With the absence of walls and the presence of underground parking 1, the student left the ground floor free for public circulation. In the apartments, areas such as dining and living, as well as laundry, were removed, leaving more room for the rooms and forcing residents to use the building's collective laundry to save water and energy.
The winner emphasizes the importance of participating in contests such as this, which, according to him, contribute greatly to professional growth. “I can earn the respect of my teachers as someone who has absorbed all the knowledge in the five years of the course and is prepared to start a working life. It is also nice for my classmates to understand that the teaching we have been given is enough to be the architects and planners we want. In the professional market, it is a differential in my curriculum, proving that everything that was passed to me during the undergraduate program and my internship experiences was satisfactory when I was preparing a project”.
The student João Lago Nobile Ferreira was inspired by the work of Kandinsky, Russian expressionist painter, to develop his project. Entitled "[re] composition", the main purpose of the creation is to show formal alternatives being functional, which can be perceived from equipment to the implementation of the building. “The main motivation for developing the project and participating in the contest was to challenge me to have this experience that would be enriching anyway. Not to mention, of course, the possibility of being one of the winners and having this recognition as fuel to continue studying, producing and doing my best”, he says.
For the course coordinator, Professor Ruth Cristina Montanheiro Paulino, the contest was an excellent opportunity for students to be in direct contact with market issues and to exercise creativity. “We are very proud of our students because they showed commitment and responsibility as well as competence,” she adds.
The first place will win a paid internship position at the company and a companion trip to the Hot Beach Resort, in Olímpia, São Paulo. Second and third place will also be awarded with a companion trip.
